Oaky whites highlighted by Atlantic freshness
Doravante Arinto Special Edition 2017
“One vineyard, one wine”
Old vines, centennial vines, hillside vines, lowland vines, more clayey or stony, all give birth to different wines.
It has been our mission to interpret all the differences that exist in the vineyards and transpose them into the different wines. Our big bet is on the old Baga vineyards, in the case of reds, and Bical vineyards in the case of whites, although in some vineyards there are mixtures with other local grape varieties.
Winemaking minimalist in terms of intervention but quite differentiated and adapted to each of the different vineyards, that is, the different parcels also have a different approach in the winery in order to better reveal what we believe to be its purest expression.
We want tense, fresh and complex wines, with a strong connection to the “terroir” and a unique personality that, fundamentally, award us with pleasure for many years.

Unfortunately, the Portuguese government woke up to the fact that there had to be a TGV link between Porto and Lisbon.
Many winegrowers have suffered as a result, and the V Puro project is no exception. The Arinto vineyard had to be uprooted. We'll never have a wine like this again. That's why it's a special edition.
A chalky, herbal, stony and smoky wine. One of the best whites this country has ever had!

ARENAE Malvasia de Colares 2020
Portugal's oldest cooperative winery!

Since 1931, the main purpose of this cooperative has been to make wine from the grapes grown on its members’ farms, using the appropriate means and techniques, thus fulfilling an important social function in the agricultural sector in the municipality of Sintra. The winery is very close to its members through technical assistance to winegrowers and support for their activity. With such an ancient tradition and remarkable typicity, the vines and wine of the Colares region are a true living museum and an ex-libris of the region. Their problems and their survival transcend the mere scope of the economy and become a cultural issue. Our main objective is the protection and preservation of the Colares Wine Culture.

A noble grape variety, native to the region, planted in the characteristic sandy soils, free from phylloxera, less than 1 km from the Atlantic coast and at an average altitude of 110 m. Free-standing system, with creeping strands over the sand. Use of small stretches of cane – pontoons – to lift the bunches in summer. Protection from the winds with dry reed palisades and loose stone walls. Strong Atlantic influence, with summers of moderate temperatures and strong, salty winds. The presence of the Serra de Sintra, to the south, leads to the formation of fog and the maintenance of high relative humidity.
